THE PRACTICAL GUIDES

Make the next decision.

PORTAL OR PORTAL 2 FIRST?

Start by goal, not by a made-up prerequisite.

For solo story order

Start with Portal, then play Portal 2. That is our spoiler-safe editorial recommendation, not a technical requirement.

For co-op right now

Choose Portal 2’s separate cooperative campaign, then use the play-together guide to select your setup.

Valve presents Portal and Portal 2 as separate products. Do not assume a bundle, digital book or one purchase supplies every title or every independently running copy. This guide does not rank difficulty, quality or completion time.

What Portal 2 includes

The product’s documented experiences include a solo campaign, a separate cooperative campaign, creator tools and access to community-made content. The listing also offers The Final Hours as a digital book; it is not another playable campaign. Portal 2 listing and offers ↗

How this vertical earns a return visit

Substantive tests, genuinely evaluated community chambers and corrections can extend these pages. New guides and revisions enter the RSS feed with their recorded publication date. The editorial record should date any eventual additions without pretending an old game changed merely because our guide did.
